Dutch Design: Christie van der Haak

After being shown in Miami, Cuba, and the Hague, Christie van der Haak’s patterns will be displayed at the Villa Mondriaan starting the 3rd of August. The Arco Pavilion will be dressed in decorative wall and floor tapestries during the exhibit. In her textile design, van der Haak combines traditional, exuberant patterns with contemporary design techniques. The combination of handcraft and mechanical techniques is at the core of her work. Through her versatile approaches, the distance between mass products and autonomous artwork is reduced.

Van der Haak is thereby another artist who contributes to the series of Dutch Design exhibits shown at the Arco Pavilion. Dutch Design in Villa Mondriaan has been made possible by Arco, an innovative furniture factory from Winterswijk, the Netherlands. Arco designs, develops and produces contemporary design from Dutch soil.
