By car

From Utrecht take the E35 towards Arnhem, then follow the A12 towards Oberhausen. At the junction Oud- Dijk, follow the signs and take A18 towards Doetinchem/ Enschede. Then turn right onto Twente-Route/ N18/ Winterswijk. Follow the signs N318/Oostelijke Rondweg. In Winterswijk, the Villa Mondriaan and parking facilities are signposted.

Coming from Enschede follow the signs to Haaksbergen, Eibergen and Groenlo . In Groenlo follow the N319 to Winterswijk. In Winterswijk, the Villa Mondriaan and parking facilities are signposted.

From Münster, Germany: Follow the A43, take exit 6 Dülmen and follow the B474 towards Coesfeld. In Coesfeld, turn left onto the B525/ later B70 and follow this road via Oeding to Winterswijk. From the Dutch border, the designation of the B70 is converted into N319. In Winterswijk, the Villa Mondriaan and parking facilities are signposted.

From Maastricht take the A2 towards Luchthaven/ Eindhoven/ Aachen. After leaving Echt behind you, turn right and follow the A73 to Roermond/ Venlo. Here you take the A40/ E34 in the direction of Duisburg, Germany. Leaving Duisburg behind you, at the Autobahn-intersection 14 – Kreuz Kaiserberg, take the A3 towards Hannover/ Arnhem. Stay on the A3 to Hamminkeln, and there take exit 5 Hamminkeln and turn on the B437 in the direction of Bocholt. Behind Bocholt, at the german-dutch border, the B437 is converted into N313. In Aalten, turn on N318 to Winterswijk. In Winterswijk, the Villa Mondriaan and parking facilities are signposted.

Walk from the station to the museum Villa Mondriaan in Winterswijk
In front of the station, walk diagonally across the station into Spoorstraat and follow it to the end of the road where you turn right into the Wooldstraat/ Weurden. After a short walk turn immediately left into Willinkstraat. At the end turn right into Wheme, then left onto the Zonnebrink. The Museum Villa Mondriaan is on the left. The entrance is just around the corner in Ratumsestraat. The walking distance from the train station is only about 900m.

 

Parking

There are plenty free parking facilities in Winterswijk. The areas are marked and signposted.

Parking lot ‘Wheme‘: Follow the walking route towards ‘Markt’. Walk right behind the Jacobskerk and turn right into the Ratumsestraat. Follow this street until almost the end; Villa Mondriaan is on your right.

Parking lot ‘Market‘ (note: this parking lot is located in the center: On Wednesday and Saturday there is a market here and there is no parking). Walk past the Jacob’s church and turn into the Ratumsestraat. Follow this street until the end; Villa Mondriaan is on your right.

Parking lot Scholtenbrug: Follow the walking route to Ratumsestraat, turn left. You will see the entrance to Villa Mondriaan on your right.

Accessibility

The museum is accessible by wheelchair. There is an elevator for easy access to the upper exhibition hall. In the historic home of Mondriaan only the ground floor is accessible by wheelchair.

Dogs are not allowed in the museum, with the exception of service dogs.
