W.A.S. Exhibition

On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May 2025, Museum Villa Mondriaan will open its doors for the annual exhibition of the ‘Winterswijkse Academie voor de Schilderkunst’ (W.A.S. – Winterswijk Academy of Painting). As the museum of coming-of-age, Villa Mondriaan offers a platform to all art lovers in the area, from enthusiastic hobbyists to advanced amateur artists.

For one whole weekend, the villa transforms into a vibrant exhibition featuring more than 120 works by students of the W.A.S. This is a unique opportunity for local art lovers to showcase their talent in the house where Piet Mondrian developed as a young artist.

Visitors can vote on their favourite artwork for the audience award. In addition, the expert jury will judge the works on their artistic quality. The winners will be announced on Sunday 11 May at 17:00.

The W.A.S. Exhibition can be visited free of charge through the entrance of the museum garden. Moreover, this is the opportunity to admire the exhibition EIGENBEELDIG for the last time, this can be done at a reduced rate of €6.00.
