New Museum Director

As broadly discussed in Dutch media, Villa Mondriaan has exchanged one record for the other. The oldest museum director of the Netherlands, Wim van Krimpen (72), passed on his position to successor Anne Kremers, who at 24 counts as the youngest museum director nationwide. The museum, partly situated in the original residential house of the Mondriaan family where Piet Mondriaan began his artistic career, was newly opened on May 21st by Princess Beatrix, the former Queen of the Netherlands. Under the guidance of Wim van Krimpen, the museum and its residence were developed in a record time of four and a half months. Anne Kremers, Bachelor in arts and culture science and both Bachelor and Master  in Art History at the University of Leiden, accompanied and supported the museum’s development from the very beginning as one of two junior directors. The Board of Trustees then nominated her as the new Director of the Museum. The decisive factor was her ability to work together with employees at all levels.
